Nicole Manek Costume Designer / Stylist Nicole Manek is a Costume Designer and Stylist for film, theatre and television based in Toronto, Canada. She credits her love of design and theatrical characters to her mother, who was the first on the block to wear pink faux fur and terrycloth monogrammed jumpsuits. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in Theatre Arts she began work steadily in film, television, theatre and commercials. No production is unsatisfying for Nicole; from small off-off-off-Broadway productions to wide release Feature films, her imagination is piqued by all that she does. Where costumes and fashion are concerned she believes that comfort is key. A costume only looks as good as the person who's wearing it feels. Keeping this in mind, Nicole strives to find the perfect interpretation for each character through their wardrobe. She applies this philosophy to all of her work, as collaboration and taking risks are the most exciting parts of creating a look. Nicole will be venturing to Milan, Italy in 2008 to study Leather Arts at the famed Modapella Design Institute. A Nicole Manek handbag line is in the works for fall 2008. close window
